The Scientific and Technical Council (STC) of the Communication and Information Agency of Uzbekistan is an advisory body considering the industrial - practical, scientific and technical, educational activity of field generally, and also the joint-stock companies, enterprises, organizations and establishments in sphere of communication and information.

The Chairman of the STС is the Director General of the Communication and Information Agency of Uzbekistan - Aripov Abdulla Nigmatovich.

The general purposes of the STC are:

- Studying and elaboration of recommendations on creation of scientific - practical concepts, the basic directions, priorities of development and modernization in sphere of post and telecommunications;

- Offers elaboration on practical and effective introduction into the manufacture of various kinds of new techniques, technology, and practical experience;

- Offers elaboration on effective cooperation with the foreign partners, the fullest use of the foreign technical means and technologies;

- Consideration of carrying out of scientific analyses on the general questions of the sphere development including the forecasts development, search of effective strategy and tactics of regulation activity of telecommunication operators, offers elaboration  on perfection of management mechanisms and regulation by sphere of communication and information;

- Consideration and entering of recommendations on tariffs problems and mutual payments on services of post and telecommunications, on the basis of social orientation and multilaying transition to the market economy of Uzbekistan;

- Problems, connected with the protection of consumers interests of post and telecommunications services;

- Problems decision of the telecommunication networks security maintenance, information safety and others;

- Environmental problems decision, arising at the maintenance operating and again entered equipment of telecommunications and post communication; optimization of the international activity in sphere of communication and information;

- Definition of priority directions of preparation, retraining and improvement of professional skills of the staff;

- Entering of recommendations on development and realization of the coordinated policy for the improvement of highly skilled experts preparation, their retraining and the improvement of professional skill, improvement of training quality on the basis of succession of all educational system steps;

- Studying and entering of recommendations on educations integration, sciences and manufactures, the development of communication of educational institutions of the Agency by conducting educational and scientific institutions of the advanced foreign countries;

- Definition of priority directions of activity of educational institutions of the Agency and entering of the recommendation on their financing;

- Effective influence on the operative decision of actual questions of the current period, which necessity of carrying out defined by Decrees of the President of the Republic, decisions of the Government, decisions of the Board of the Communication and Information Agency of Uzbekistan, decrees and orders of Agency.

The personal structure of the Scientific and Technical Council for 2006 is approved by the decree of the Communication and Information Agency of Uzbekistan № 112 from April, 14, 2006.
