«In accordance with the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministries of the Republic of Uzbekistan from September, 26 2005, №215 «About perfection of normative-legal base in the field of the electronic digital signature use»:
The Communication and Information Agency of Uzbekistan is appointed as specially authorized body in the field of the electronic digital signature use.

To the Communication and Information Agency of Uzbekistan are imposed the tasks and functions of the Registration body of EDS keys registration centers.

The basic tasks and functions of specially authorized body in the field of the electronic digital signature use:
·        elaboration of projects legislative and statutory acts on the electronic digital signature use;
·        elaboration and introduction in established order to the confirmation of state standards, organization of introduction of international standards;
·        implementation of international standards, elaboration and confirmation of sub standards, technical conditions and requirements to the means  in the field of electronic digital signature use, specifications and requirements to means in the field of use of the electronic digital signature;
·        coordination of bodies’ activity of state management and economic entity on implementation issues and electronic digital signature use.
The basic tasks and functions of Registration body of electronic digital signature keys registration center:
·        realization in established order the state registration of centers of electronic digital signature keys registration;
·        certificate issuing EDS keys to the authorized persons of registration centers of EDS keys;
·        maintenance of unitary state register of certificates of EDS keys of authorized persons of registration centers of EDS keys and maintenance of free access of legal and physical persons;
·        confirmation of authenticity of EDS of the authorized persons of registration centers of EDS keys under the reference of legal and physical persons;
·        control of activity of the registration centers of the EDS keys.

At the performance of tasks and functions of Registration Body of EDS keys registration the Communication and Information Agency of Uzbekistan is guided by the Decree of the Republic of Uzbekistan «About the electronic digital signature» and Regulations about the order of the state registration centers of registration of electronic digital signatures keys, approved resolution of the Cabinet Ministries of the Republic of Uzbekistan from September, 26 2005, №215
