In accordance with Decree of the Communications and Information Agency of Uzbekistan ¹ 270, of October 28, 2005 was introduced the new postal indexes of the Republic of Uzbekistan. New six-digit post indexation of the Republic of Uzbekistan is formed in view of the territorial accessories of structural subdivisions of post communication and settlements before the administrative formations of the republic. Introduction of new postal indexes will considerably increase the quality of provided services by the further improvement of technological processes. The new postal index consists of six digits and for the Regions of the Republic of Uzbekistan is as follows: · first two digits of index specify the conditional code of the regional center or territory of region; · third and fourth digits of the index specify the conditional code of the regional center, territory of region or city of regional subordination; · fifth and sixth digits of the index specify the conditional code of branch of post communication (post communication office). For example: index 120216 means 12 - Syr-Darya Region 02 - Bajautsky District 16 - post communication office that serving the Usmanabad settlement. The new postal index for Tashkent has its particular appearance in comparison with the regions of the Republic. The postal index of Tashkent is as follows: · first three digits of the index specify the conditional code of Tashkent; · second three digits of the index specify the number of post communication office of Tashkent.
